Lady Titan Basketball Dominates in Region Opener

On Tuesday, November 28, the Northview Lady Titans (3-1, 1-0, Region 7AAAAAA) played in a region showdown against the Pope Greyhounds (1-2, 0-1, Region 7AAAAAA) and won by a score of 65-45.

The Lady Titans got a big lead early in the first half thanks to what would end up to be a 24 point night for freshman Eden Sample. Juniors Ashlee Austin and Maya Richards also did their part, each putting up more than ten points of their own. The Titans managed to score more than half of their points off of turnovers and fast breaks, keeping the score out of reach for the Greyhounds for the majority of the game.

“We stressed that we wanted to keep the intensity up,” Head Coach Chris Yarbrough said, “we kept it at 20 and i really liked what i saw on the defensive side of the ball.”

This was the first region game for Northview and was an important win in what has become a very impressive start to the season. The next game for Northview is the home opener when they welcome the Centennial Knights this Friday, December 1.
