The boys cross country team placed second place in the Darlington Running Festival in Rome, GA this past Saturday, September 30.
“The boys did phenomenally in this past weekend’s race. They came in second place for the second weekend in a row,” Head Coach Anthony Ciancola said.
The team has seven really strong runners heading into the end of the season and the region finals. Players from the junior varsity team have really stepped up this season for the Titans, creating their continued success.
“Michael Smith, one of my top varsity runners, has won the last two races overall as an individual, and junior varsity runner Rowley Bouter has stepped up and performed in these last two varsity races,” Ciancola said.
The girls came in third place this past weekend even though they have had many injuries on the team.
“The varsity girls had many injuries lately but they still ran well and still placed in the top ten,” Ciancola said.
The squads are looking forward to the region and state championships. The team is expecting to accomplish all their goals from this season and see all their hard work pay off in these final races.
