Softball Takes on Norcross

The Northview Titans (3-12, 3-11 Region 7-AAAAAA) traveled to Norcross (7-9, 3-4 Region 7-AAAAAAA) on the Blue Devil’s senior night and fell by a final score of 16-8.

The Titans got off a to good start, scoring three runs in the first inning, but they weren’t able to keep up the momentum, watching Norcross score six runs in the second.

The Titans struggled on defense all night, committing four errors in the field. These mistakes led to numerous costly runs against Northview.

“We fought the whole game but routine errors cost us the game defensively,” senior shortstop Sophia Hamill said.

Northview had a couple of three-hit nights from Eve Chapa and Hamill, but the offense was no match for the Blue Devils.

“Offensively we left too many runners stranded when it was crucial for [the runners] to score,” Hamill said.

The Titans will look to end the season on a high note as they travel to Pope (19-3, 13-1 Region 7-AAAAAA) to begin the final stretch of the season.
