Northview Volleyball (0-13, 0-2 Region 6-AAAAAA) played North Gwinnett (19-4, 0-0 Region 6-AAAAAAA) on Thursday, September 7, and lost without much resistance to the strong Bulldog team. The Titans fell by a score of 2 sets to 0, losing 25-11 in the first and 25-7 in the second.
The Bulldogs dominated with 25 kills, 34 attacks, and eight aces against the Titans. Juniors Alexa Fortin and Caitlin O’Farrell accounted for six of those kills, and Fortin posted a perfect kill percentage of 100%. The Titans did not perform nearly as well, only being able to put up seven points in the second set, and 18 in total.
“We need to work on a number of things. We have some good talent, but we can’t put it all together for some reason. We are having some of the same issues that we had last year. We cannot play as a team and we need to learn to work together. We have the talent, but without the ability to work together, we are in the same place that we began in,” senior Ananda Thomas said.
The Titans still have five games left to finish out this season. They play Galloway next, away, looking to secure at least one win before too long. Northview will have to work hard to grind out the kinks that plague them to finally break through and become victorious.
