Northview Titan Volleyball (0-9 Region AAAAAA) fell short once again Thursday, August 31, this time to the Peachtree Ridge Lions (9-10 Region AAAAAA). The team put up a valiant effort, but the Lions prevailed in 3 sets 13-25, 25-17, and 25-10.
“We’ve been working really hard this week in practice on watching the ball, coming together as a team, and not getting down when someone makes a mistake. We just didn’t apply these concepts at all in the actual game situation,” senior Piper Chans said.
The team has grown immensely in the past few games, but just can’t seem to put everything together to earn wins, losing the past three matches in the decisive third set. Northview competed with Peachtree Ridge once again Thursday night, taking control early before seeing the momentum slip away and flip sides for good. The players seem to have a good grasp on what it is they need to improve upon in order to find consistent success.
“Our serve return game was not good at all, which is unusual. Today we couldn’t pass the ball at all,” Chans said.
The Titans are now halfway through their season, and are hoping to turn it around before the finish approaches.
