The Northview Lady Titans varsity tennis team dominated against Alpharetta at a home game on Wednesday, March 8. The match was originally supposed to be played on Tuesday, February 21, but it was rescheduled due to inclement weather. The Lady Titans won the match by a score of 4-1, only dropping a line 3 singles match. The lineup consisted of Suma Yarabarla (line one singles), Chloe Brown (line two singles), Cody Lu (line three singles), Aria Ragass and Sasha Timokhin (line one doubles), and Sydney Siegel and Karina Limyadi (line two doubles). The doubles pairings were a very consistent part of the Titans lineup, and they are very reliable in giving the Titans momentum early on. The matches played against the Alpharetta Tennis team were quite close, and two players ended up splitting sets.
“We had some very close matches today and both our line 1 and 2 matches ended up splitting sets, but we overcame that and fought to beat a very strong team,” Brown said.
The Titans hope to keep their momentum going, as they have a tough match against Centennial coming up on Thursday, March 9. Centennial has a few tournament players, so the Titans must rely on their higher lines to solidify the wins like they have been doing in the past. If the girls continue to stay focused and play like they did against the Alpharetta girls, then they will have a good chance of coming out on top against Centennial Knights.
