On Monday, January 30, the Northview Lady Titans (20-3, Region 7-AAAAAA 14-0) won against the Cambridge Bears (10-13, 4-10) 70-31 at Cambridge High School.
The Lady Titans managed to produce a 39-16 score at half in a very lop-sided game in favor of the Titans. Senior Shannon Titus and Sophomore Ashlee Austin combined to score 33 points along with 18 total rebounds. Cambridge played hard the entire game despite the score and having a total of nine players on their active roster.
Sophomore Madison Malvin and junior Katie Armstrong scored their first varsity points of the season with Malvin’s three-pointer in the fourth quarter and Armstrong’s free-throw after a vicious foul mid-way through the fourth quarter.
“It was fantastic,” head coach Chris Yarbrough said. “When the bench goes wild, it’s so great to see the whole team involved for every one of their teammates.”
The Lady Titans also managed to secure their twentieth victory of the season, maintaining all the momentum from the start of their eight game win streak.
“It felt great,” head coach Chris Yarbrough said. “It’s a new school record and we started off sluggish, but we got it going later in the season.”
The next matchup for the Titans is on Tuesday, January 31, at Alpharetta High School in an important divisional matchup for the Raiders.
